Ken Kelling

Coach Mentor

Ken is an ICF credentialed coach and makes up an important part of our Coach Mentoring Team. Graduating with Animas in 2014, and with his 25-year professional background in corporate communications and events, Ken now enjoys combining public relations consultancy with his own executive coaching practice.

Having spent more than two decades working in corporate PR and communications, and with a hand still in the industry, Ken continues to build a wide acumen of varied skills and experience that lend themselves to his coaching practice.

After two years of organising the Olympic and Paralympic torch relays through London, Ken found himself without work along with two thousand others following the end of the London games. He turned this moment into an opportunity for self-reflection and after some freelance work and plenty of searching became aware of life coaching through an Animas Introduction to Transformational Coaching day.

Since qualifying, Ken has completed accredited course in Existential, Somatic and Group coaching, as well as gaining accreditation from the ICF. It has also been a period of yet more reflection, and whilst maintaining his executive coaching practice, Ken is now moving along a slightly different path, putting time into learning positive psychology techniques, to expand his coaching skill set even further.

In the coaching space Ken likes to coach around the idea of creating a better sense of purpose, and finding something, whatever it is, that brings more meaning to his clients. He helps people who are feeling confused, stuck or believe they have greater potential inside them to unlock positive options and build confidence.

What Ken brings to the mentor role, besides his experience and insights into the coaching, corporate and PR world is a calm, friendly and positive approach along with the empathy and understanding around what it's like to combine and juggle several different practices or businesses alongside coaching.
