About Emily

Originally trained as a Montessori teacher with the ethos of encouraging children to discover their own independence through student-centred learning, Emily has always looked for the most natural and self empowering way of helping people. Once she had her own family she took a career turn and moved into health and wellbeing for adults working briefly with in the corporate sector and then more recently with staff in schools to increase wellbeing and reduce stress levels through massage, workshops and meditation. This led naturally to an interest in life coaching and she qualified with Animas in 2012. She has always had a deep interest in the practice of meditation, eastern philosophies, and the use of socratic inquiry to discover one’s own innate truth and this infuses her coaching practice. Central to her work is the principle based in eastern traditions that we are all essentially whole and perfect in ourselves but due to our overlays of conditioning, imposed beliefs, attitudes etc we are more or less effective at any given time.

Emily currently runs her own practice as a Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. As well as teaching the Mindfulness Coaching CPD and the Foundations weekends at Animas she works in three London schools providing Wellbeing Coaching, meditation and massage to staff and students. She also runs a successful Life Coaching practice from home helping clients with issues around wellbeing and work/life balance. She has run workshops, courses and given talks based on holistic wellbeing through self awareness, meditation, mindful coaching, emotional resilience and mindsets. In working with teenagers Emily is currently exploring the power of narrative coaching in allowing students to gain perspective on their life stories. This often leads them to being more empowered in moving forward, becoming confident in themselves as individuals, and seeing their potential.

Emily’s aim in her work is to bring space and peace into people’s lives so that they can, through their own self-awareness, and through deep questioning, see what will help them on their journey and what can be let go of, and empower them to discover their own answers. As a trainer and facilitator Emily is passionate about passing on the skills she has learnt to enable others to create their own unique coaching style.

Emily lives in Surrey with her children and her dog. When she isn’t working she loves to walk the dog, cook for friends and family, or pop into London for films, exhibitions, architecture and theatre.
