Triple Win: Exploring the Impact of Animas’ Partnerships

Coaching thrives on connection—between coach and client, teacher and trainee, and even between organisations working toward shared goals. Ruth Randall, Managing Director of the Animas Group, exemplifies this philosophy. With nearly a decade of experience in the Animas community, Ruth’s journey has taken her from trainee, to mentor, to a senior leader in a thriving coaching organisation. Today, Ruth is at the helm of Animas’s business partnerships, where she’s driving initiatives to expand coaching’s reach and impact.

“Partnerships are about creating opportunities for both coaches and clients,” Ruth explains. “They’re a way to bring coaching into spaces it might not naturally reach, while also supporting coaches to grow and develop in their practice.”

In this interview, Ruth shares how Animas partnerships are shaping the future of coaching and what they offer to coaches and organisations alike.

A Decade in Coaching: From Trainee to Leader

Ruth’s coaching journey began in 2015 when she attended an Animas introductory training course. What started as a career change from health and social care soon became a calling.
“I didn’t expect to join the Animas team, let alone become Managing Director,” she reflects. “But the opportunities and connections I found here have been life-changing.”

From mentoring trainees to overseeing operations and partnerships, Ruth has brought her systems-focused mindset to Animas’s mission of shaping the coaching profession.
“My role is to make things happen—to integrate ideas and ensure all the parts of the business fit together. That’s what I love most about my work.”

The Role of Partnerships in Expanding Coaching’s Reach

Animas partnerships aim to connect coaches with opportunities to enrich their practice while making coaching more accessible to diverse groups. Ruth describes partnerships as “a triple win”:

  1. For Organisations: Partnering organisations gain access to highly skilled, accredited coaches who bring transformative value to their teams or clients.
  2. For Coaches: Coaches can gain valuable experience, expand their networks, and work with diverse client groups they might not typically encounter.
  3. For Clients: The ultimate beneficiaries are the individuals who receive coaching, many of whom might not have had access otherwise.

“Partnerships help coaches gain experience beyond their personal networks while bringing the value of coaching to new audiences,” Ruth explains.

Types of Partnerships: A Unique Range of Opportunities

Animas’s partnerships span a wide spectrum, from social impact projects to corporate coaching programs. Ruth highlights some key examples:

  • Yes Futures: A long-standing partnership where Animas coaches volunteer to work with young people in schools, helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Ella’s Kitchen: A corporate partnership where employees access coaching as part of their professional development. Coaches gain valuable experience working in an organisational setting and coachees choose their preferred coach through discovery calls.
  • Wilfred’s House: A charitable organisation offering coaching alongside counselling services, with Animas coaches playing a vital role in supporting clients.

“Each partnership is unique,” Ruth shares. “Some are cohort-based, seasonal programs, while others offer ongoing opportunities. We even have niche projects, like recruiting Spanish-speaking coaches for a charity supporting Latin American communities in the UK.”

Volunteering: A Gateway to Growth

For Ruth, volunteering is an invaluable way for coaches to gain experience and make a difference. “Many coaches start by volunteering, and it often leads to unexpected opportunities,” she explains. “You gain confidence, expand your network, and sometimes even transition into paid roles.”

Ruth points to the stories of coaches like Zoë Bishop from Renew HG1 and Tracy from Yes Futures, who both began as volunteers and later took on paid roles within their respective organisations. “It’s about building relationships that open doors,” she says.

Nurturing a Thriving Community

Animas partnerships aren’t just about connecting coaches to opportunities—they’re also about fostering a vibrant, engaged community. “Our coaches are incredibly diverse, with unique skills and experience,” Ruth shares. “This diversity allows us to match coaches to opportunities that suit their strengths and interests, whether that’s leadership coaching, working with young people, or exploring new niches.”

The Animas community’s reputation for quality and professionalism also makes these partnerships possible. “We often hear from organisations that have worked with our coaches and want to continue because of the incredible impact they’ve seen,” Ruth says. “Our community speaks for itself.”

Ruth’s Vision for the Future of Partnerships

Looking ahead, Ruth hopes to expand the Animas Group’s partnerships to reach even more coaches, coach supervisors and clients. “I’d love to see a continuous funnel of opportunities for our community—coaches working with coachees across all kinds of organisations and settings,” she says.

She’s also passionate about raising awareness of coaching in sectors where it’s not yet widely understood. “Coaching has so much potential to transform lives, but there are still many people who don’t know what it is or how it can help them. Partnerships are a way to change that.”

Final Thoughts

For Ruth Randall, partnerships are more than just professional arrangements—they’re a way to broaden coaching’s impact and create meaningful opportunities for growth. “Coaching is about connection and transformation, and partnerships bring that to life,” she says. “They help us reach new people, support our coaches, and demonstrate the power of coaching in action.”
