An Interview with Louise Lloyd, Mindset and Wellbeing Coach
Louise Lloyd is a mindset and wellbeing coach with over 20 years of experience, helping individuals manage stress, overcome personal limits, and live with greater happiness. Through her business, The Inspired Zone, Louise blends coaching with meditation, NLP, and mindfulness practices to support her clients in becoming more present and intentional in their lives. Her book, Stresshacking: 50 Simple Strategies to Get Your Life, Mind, and Mojo Back, offers practical tools for those looking to take ownership of their wellbeing.
In this interview, Louise shares the journey that brought her to coaching, her unique approach to wellbeing, and the philosophy that drives her coaching practice today.
The Birth of The Inspired Zone
Louise’s career didn’t start in the world of coaching. In fact, she spent years as a professional horse competitor. However, a pivotal moment came in the late 90s when she discovered the transformative power of meditation. “That completely changed my life,” Louise recalls. “It was the end of that career and the beginning of my interest in mindset and how we keep ourselves balanced—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.”
The name The Inspired Zone came to life in a unique way. Louise sought feedback from her clients, asking them how her sessions made them feel. “The most common word that came up was ‘inspired,’” she explains, reflecting on the client-led process that gave her business its identity.
Mindset and Wellbeing in the Everyday
Louise’s work is deeply rooted in the power of presence. For her, every day starts with a non-negotiable ritual: a cup of tea in bed. “I use that time to arrive into the day with intention,” she shares. “It’s a softer form of meditation for me.” Whether her day is filled with coaching sessions, writing content, or taking early morning walks in nature, Louise places a strong emphasis on being present, not rushing into the demands of life.
Through The Inspired Zone, Louise combines coaching with practical training, supporting individuals and teams to become more present in their personal and professional lives. Her coaching blends mindfulness and NLP techniques, encouraging people to slow down and bring awareness to their thoughts, choices, and behaviours. “I feel passionate about helping people to become more present,” she explains. “It’s key in the world we live in today”.
The Power of Stresshacking
Louise’s book Stresshacking focuses on small, actionable strategies to help people reclaim their lives from stress. “I wanted people to know it doesn’t take major changes to shift things,” she explains. The 50 hacks in her book are simple, day-to-day choices that help people regain control and find alignment with their true selves.
One of the techniques Louise suggests to her clients is the “cold shower practice.” “It’s a great way to gain control over your nervous system reactions,” she shares. The practice involves finishing a warm shower with 30 seconds of cold water, using breathwork to stay present rather than reacting to the discomfort. “It teaches us that we have more control over our responses than we think.” This method has helped many of her clients, with one sharing how it gave them the confidence to navigate high-stress situations.
Coaching, Growth, and Self-Awareness
A recurring theme in Louise’s work is the concept of growth and pushing the boundaries of success. Yet, she cautions against the trap of “I’ll be happy when…”, a mindset that keeps people constantly chasing future goals without being present. “We need to be present where we are, otherwise we won’t even feel happy when we reach our goals,” Louise notes. She also acknowledges the paradox between striving for growth and accepting yourself as you are. “There’s something powerful about pushing boundaries and thriving, but it doesn’t have to come from a place of lack.”
As a coach, Louise often helps clients unpack beliefs that limit their potential. “Many of the beliefs that drive our thoughts and actions are unconscious,” she says. By helping people become more present and aware of these internal narratives, Louise empowers her clients to make changes from a place of self-acceptance.
Experiences with Animas Centre for Coaching
Louise’s journey with Animas began when she saw the Neurodiversity in Coaching course advertised online. “I’ve been working with neurodiverse clients for a long time, so this course immediately caught my attention,” she shares. The course, which brought together experts in neurodiversity, gave Louise a fresh perspective and reinforced her understanding of the unique needs of neurodiverse individuals.
Louise particularly valued the flexibility of the course. “I couldn’t attend all the live sessions, but I felt fully included through the recordings. It was a brilliantly inclusive experience.” The connections formed during the programme, both through LinkedIn groups and ongoing conversations, continue to enrich her understanding of neurodiversity in coaching.
Looking to the Future
As Louise looks to the future, her vision remains clear: to expand The Inspired Zone and bring more presence, mindfulness, and wellbeing practices to a wider audience. Through her Being Present programme, she’s already helping individuals and organisations develop greater awareness, navigate difficult situations, and stay grounded in their everyday lives. “I’m passionate about helping people learn to be present with themselves and with others—especially in moments of discomfort,” she says.
Louise is also committed to working with leaders to build a new model of leadership—one that supports high performance without burnout. “We need to find a way to thrive while pushing boundaries, not burn out,” she explains. Her Inspired Leaders Zone community aims to foster this shift, and Louise is excited to see where this journey will lead.
Final Thoughts
Louise’s coaching practice is a testament to the power of being present, both in life and in leadership. Whether she’s helping a client manage stress, unpack limiting beliefs, or supporting leaders to embrace mindful growth, her work inspires transformation at every level.
