Coaching the C-Suite is a 12 session fully accredited course that will equip you to confidently and competently work with the leaders and executive-level managers that sit at the top of their organisations. Focusing on three core pillars – the people dynamics of working with C-suite leaders, the leadership element of being at the top and the systemic and organisational context C-level leaders operate in – and facilitated by experienced executive coach Jorge Mascarenhas, qualified coaches or coaches who have completed their training programme that want to take their corporate coaching to the next level.

Coaching the C-Suite is a course designed for coaches wanting to work with leaders that sit at the top of their organisations, be it large multinational companies or smaller digital high growth businesses. You are likely to be a qualified coach who has made some initial steps into corporate coaching and might have some experience coaching mid-level managers. Or you might be someone with a corporate background yourself wanting to become an executive coach. Or you might just have a keen interest in leadership and impact at scale. This course explores some of the key dimensions and challenges of coaching at the top while providing you with the confidence to work at this level.
The course will focus on three pillars:
- The people dynamics of working with these leaders
- The leadership element of being at the top and the systemic
- Organisational context these leaders operate in.
The people and the relationshipHow is it to coach a CEO? What are the key considerations in dealing with people in positions of power? What are the key challenges arising from coaching the top of the house? These questions are the starting point for this module focused on the people involved in the coaching relationship. We will explore who sits at the top, their expectations and responsibilities and what that means for the coaching relationship. We’ll also discuss the role of the coach in this setting and how to navigate some of the nuances that tend to show up at this level.
Leadership at C-LevelTraditional corporate coaching focuses on performance and achieving tangible goals for organisations, teams or individual clients. Although these remain important components of the coaching work, when coaching very senior leaders the focus tends to be much more on the ability to lead others and create true followship, orchestrate at scale and have sustainable impact. In this module we will explore what it means to be a modern leader in the context of an ever-changing world and the critical role the coach plays in supporting the C-suite to leverage their strengths and shape their leadership profile. We will discuss and explore tools and frameworks to enable coaches to work confidently with senior executives on becoming better and more impactful leaders.
Systemic coaching and organisational systemsNo man is an island and that is certainly true in today’s highly connected world. Leaders are surrounded by complex environments they interact with and seek to influence. In this module we’ll explore how to work with the environment and how to support executives effectively navigate the complex network of relationships and interactions in the corporate world. This module explores not only the aspect of systemic coaching relating to the individual but also intends to expand the coach’s understanding of the system itself equipping them to challenge senior leaders. We will cover aspects of leadership relating to team and group dynamics, organisational systems and dimensions and we will look at the executive as someone in the position to not only influence but shape the organisational culture.

About the Trainer
Before setting up his own coaching practice, he spent some time with leading executive search and development firm Egon Zehnder focusing on finding and developing C-Level executives. The experience of assessing, interviewing and developing hundreds of senior executives enables him to add further richness and depth to his clients and his coaching work.
