Three Valuable Things I Took from My Very First Business Event By Isik Tlabar

16th November 2018

A few weeks ago, I had a pop up stand at the ‘Business Women in Action’ event.

It was the first time I’d ever done something like this.

To give you a bit of background, I started my coaching journey with Animas in November last year. I currently do intuitive guidance, connecting people with their power and purpose so they can share their gifts with the world.

I teach people how to connect to their intuition daily, on demand, not just having it as a gut feeling that comes and goes randomly. It is a muscle you can train.

Rather than taking 10 steps and having 1 result, you can take 1 step and have 10 results, because you’ve taken the true step that you got from your intuition.

This realisation was huge for me, because for years I was running around like a headless chicken asking other people what I should do, feeling powerless to know what’s best for me. I saw that I know the answers. Not only are they within me, but I can access them whenever I want. I thought to myself, ‘Wow I have to share this with people.’

Now, back to the story.

I didn’t know what a roller banner was few weeks ago to be honest, I had to Google it, Then I realised, ‘Oh that’s what they’re called’.

show up & be yourself

There were speakers, comedians, poets, business women speaking during the day. One spoken word artist who shared her poem said:

“A Queen doesn’t have to show off, she just has to show up.”

This gave me shivers. It is so true. As queens and kings, you just have to show up and be you. That’s all. You don’t have to be a certain way, say the right things etc. Just be yourself. That’s what people connect with.

It might confuse you when people say this, “Just be you.” What does that even mean?

It’s who you are, when you drop who you think you should be.

Your natural state, your essence and energy is you. You don’t have to do anything to be you. You just have to drop who you’re not.

You might believe you have to have a business persona, a certain way to present and position yourself, to look like you never have personal issues, you know your stuff and nothing can knock you down. You might believe this is the way to find clients.

The truth is all you need to do is be vulnerable and open. We’re all human and even coaches are humans having problems, worries and fears.

So that’s what I did, I was being myself and I connected with loads of beautiful women doing what they love.

you can do something even if you don’t feel like it

I didn’t just rock up to the venue feeling super confident.

I thought,

Who am I to do this?

I’ve never done this before

I don’t know what to do there etc

These are all thoughts coming from my unconscious mind, my Ego, wanting to keep me safe and small. That’s their only purpose.

What most people do is, they listen to these thoughts and they buy into them, they believe them.

Those thoughts create an emotion. It could be fear, sadness, rage… And every emotion tells you to do or not do something.

In my case it was fear telling me to hide.

What most people do is listen to these thoughts and they believe them. Then they take the action that their emotions are telling them to take, preventing them from achieving what they want.

Here’s a process you can use when you’re hitting a resistance:

Close your eyes, take a deep breath in

Notice how you’re feeling, what thoughts are in your head

What are these thoughts, emotions, telling you to do?

Now imagine you’re empty, see yourself rising above the situation, looking at it from a higher perspective

Ask yourself, “What’s the truth?” or “What would I love?”

Follow through on that

This is a process I use in my sessions all the time. The answer you get is what your intuition is telling you and it’s the truth.

If you do this regularly and act on the truth, I promise you, your whole life will change.

When I was rising above the fear I could feel what I’d love was connection and fun. As soon as ? connected with that vibration, things started to flow. Women were approaching my table, we were connecting and I was loving it.

celebrate your creation

After creating something huge you’ve never done before, there’s always a comedown. Like after an intense labour, there is rest and slowing down.

It’s just a cycle, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you. That’s how creation works. You imagine, you plant the seed, then you take action. When your creation is complete, its very important to receive what you’ve achieved.

You might struggle with this stage if you’re super driven and taking action all the time. Skipping this stage will lead you to burnout.

Another thing that might happen is, you might beat yourself up the next day. Taking what you’ve done, pulling it apart, comparing it to how other people did it etc. This is another way your Ego stops you from honouring what you created. As long as you see it as a strategy coming from Ego it doesn’t have power over you.

So I have 4 questions for you, that you can ask yourself after each time you complete something, no matter what the outcome is.

  • What have I created?
  • What have I learnt?
  • What am I willing to let go of?
  • What am I going to create now?

These questions allow you to acknowledge yourself, to stop giving energy to the past and refocus you to wherever you want to go next.

I answer these questions each time I give a workshop, finish a holiday, when a friendship or relationship ends. I even did a completion on the whole year the other day.

If you’re at a stage where you’re stepping up your game and feeling like you’re not enough, it’s too soon or you need to wait a bit, go for it… You don’t have to know anything, you just have to be you. And don’t forget to have fun along the way ????

Loads of love to you!
