Animas Head of Social Impact Emma Koubayssi is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Justin Alvero to Senior Social Impact Assistant.

Justin joined the organisation as Social Impact Assistant six months ago. Since then, he has supported Emma in developing strategies and content for the department’s in-house impact initiatives and has been instrumental in managing relationships with the Animas community and key stakeholders to achieve the social impact department’s goals and vision.

“Justin brings a calm presence to the team. He's a talented writer, a great communicator and has quickly built rapport with our volunteer coaches, supervisors and charity partners. He has played a pivotal role in supporting me to build this innovative impact arm within Animas.”

Reflecting on his recent promotion, Justin said that making a positive change through the work he does is what gets him up in the morning:

I joined Animas with nothing but an open mind and a certain level of curiosity about how I could possibly contribute to a change in the world. It was full of possibilities. In the six months that I have been with the team, I can say that I have found a different perspective on life, and am now more aware that each action we choose creates a ripple effect that impacts the people around us and our communities at large.”

Justin is looking forward to working on the upcoming projects and shared:

“My next goal is to get to a point where Emma can fully spend her energy planning, setting direction, and forging solid connections, while I run the programmes in the background.”

Alongside Justin’s promotion, the department also welcomed a new team member, Aaron Manaloto, to fill the Social Impact Assistant position.

Prior to joining the Social Impact team, Aaron was a member of the Animas sales team, where he handled sales enquiries for the Diploma in Transformational Coaching and was in charge of administrative duties for the Introduction to Transformational Coaching and Training Test Drive sales events.

When asked why he joined the social impact team, Aaron responded:

“I wanted to branch out my knowledge on how to make a significant positive change in our society. Personally, I'm looking to grow into a more caring, productive, conscious citizen of the world. Now that I am involved in social impact, I can contribute to the development of a system which supports those who serve our communities, especially in moments of crisis.”

Emma stated that she is looking forward to seeing both of her team members evolve and will be encouraging them to work within their zone of genius.

“I am focused on unlocking people’s potential and in this instance supporting my team to reach their personal and professional goals. I am a big believer in prioritising and amplifying our strengths and combining this with meaningful, purposeful work is where the magic happens. This is where we can make our greatest impact in the world.”

This year, Animas has been actively empowering the coaching community to generate positive change through its social impact programmes with the desire to widen accessibility to coaching.

Creating Space, the department’s first initiative of 2021, aimed at improving the wellbeing of UK teachers, has already finished its first round of volunteer coaches and is close to wrapping up its second. The community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, and it has already piqued the curiosity of some prominent players in the education industry.

Two other strategic initiatives, the Impact Incubator and a youth-focused micro-programme, are slated to start later this year.
