Module 1: Core Coaching Skills
Laying the Foundations for Transformative Practice
This foundational module is where your journey into transformative coaching truly begins. Focused on establishing the essential building blocks of coaching practice, Core Coaching Skills introduces the principles, structures, and techniques that underpin effective coaching conversations. You’ll explore what coaching is (and what it isn’t), discover how to hold space for meaningful dialogue, and develop the competencies required to work with clients in a professional and ethically grounded way.
During this module, you’ll become fluent in the fundamental skills of active listening, powerful questioning, contracting, and structuring sessions. You’ll learn how to support your clients to explore their thoughts and goals, articulate their challenges, and create pathways for purposeful action. Tools like the GROW model are introduced not as rigid scripts, but as flexible scaffolds that support deeper inquiry and flow.
This is also where you begin to develop your unique coaching presence—the way you show up in conversation, the quality of attention you bring, and your ability to build trust and rapport. By the end of this module, you’ll have a confident grounding in coaching essentials and a clear sense of how these skills lay the foundation for the deeper, transformative work to come.
Module 2: Thinking and Beliefs
Exploring the Inner Architecture of Change
In this module, you’ll delve into the psychological patterns that shape how people interpret their world, make decisions, and relate to themselves and others. Drawing on the powerful principles of Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC), this module equips you to work with clients at the level of thoughts, beliefs, values, and internal narratives—those often-unseen frameworks that either enable or inhibit meaningful change.
You’ll explore how clients’ belief systems can be both empowering and limiting, and you’ll learn to recognise the subtle assumptions and thinking patterns that often lie beneath the surface of their language and behaviour. Through practical tools and structured frameworks, you’ll gain the skills to help clients challenge unhelpful beliefs, reframe limiting narratives, and move towards more constructive and flexible ways of thinking.
This module also introduces the role of values in coaching—how they inform decisions, create alignment, and offer a compass for authentic action. You’ll learn how to surface and clarify values in conversation, and how to support clients in navigating internal conflicts between beliefs, values, and goals.
As you integrate these approaches, you’ll begin to coach with greater psychological depth and confidence, enabling transformative insight that starts with how your clients think—and leads to how they live.
Module 3: Transformative Presence
Deepening the Relational Field of Coaching
In this module, we step beyond tools and techniques to focus on one of the most powerful and subtle forces in coaching: your presence. Transformative Presence invites you to explore who you are as a coach, how you relate to your clients, and how the quality of your being shapes the coaching space itself.
Rooted in humanistic and relational philosophies, this module draws on the work of thinkers like Carl Rogers and Nancy Kline to explore what it means to be truly present, empathic, and attuned. You’ll examine the impact of silence, attention, congruence, and intuition—not as passive qualities, but as active catalysts for insight and change. Coaching becomes less about directing and more about holding; less about fixing and more about witnessing.
You’ll also explore the relational dynamics at play in the coaching conversation. What does it mean to be in a co-created space of mutual exploration? How can you foster psychological safety while also inviting challenge and depth?
By developing a grounded and spacious presence, you begin to work not only with what is said but also with what is felt, sensed, and emerging. This module helps you cultivate the depth of presence that transforms coaching from a helpful conversation into a truly generative encounter.
Module 4: Narrative Transformation
Rewriting the Stories That Shape Us
In this module, you’ll explore the profound role that story plays in shaping identity, meaning, and possibility. Narrative Transformation brings into focus how clients make sense of their lives through the stories they tell—about themselves, others, and the world—and how these stories can both liberate and limit.
Drawing on the insights of Narrative Coaching and Transactional Analysis, this module invites you to work with your clients’ personal narratives as dynamic, living texts. You’ll learn to recognise the scripts, roles, and patterns that clients unconsciously inhabit, often rooted in early life experiences and reinforced through habitual self-talk and relational dynamics. Models such as the Drama Triangle and ego states offer powerful ways to explore these inner narratives and bring awareness to how they play out in daily life.
Rather than “fixing” the story, you’ll support clients to re-author it—to step into new perspectives, create alternative meanings, and reclaim authorship over their lives. This is about helping clients see that their story is not fixed but fluid; not imposed, but co-created.
Through reflective practice and real-time dialogue, you’ll begin to coach not just around goals or problems, but around the very frameworks of identity. This opens the door to transformation that is deep, creative, and lasting.
Module 5: Transformative Presence
Shifting the Lens Through Which the World Is Seen
In this module, you’ll explore the deepest layers of transformative coaching: the paradigms that shape how individuals perceive, interpret, and engage with life. While earlier modules focus on content—what clients think, feel, and do—Transforming Paradigms is about context: the underlying structures of meaning through which clients experience reality.
This module introduces powerful, paradigm-shifting approaches drawn from systemic thinking, metaphor work, and constructivist psychology. You’ll learn to help clients step outside their current frames of reference and explore new perspectives that weren’t previously visible or accessible. Techniques such as Clean Language, perceptual positions, and systemic mapping provide elegant ways to surface hidden patterns and relationships, revealing how meaning is co-created through internal and external systems.
Crucially, you’ll also develop your own capacity to think systemically and work with complexity. Coaching becomes less about solving discrete problems and more about enabling clients to see themselves—and their challenges—within a broader, more interconnected field.
This module invites a shift not only for the client but for you as the coach. It asks you to hold multiple realities, stay curious in the face of ambiguity, and trust the emergent wisdom that arises when deep structures are made visible. Transformation here is not just behavioural—it’s ontological.
Shall we move on to the final module, Ethics and Professional Practice?
Module 6: Ethics and Professional Practice
Integrating Learning, Honouring Responsibility, and Embodying the Coach Role
The final module of the Accredited Diploma draws your learning journey into a mature, integrated whole. Ethics and Professional Practice is both a reflective and forward-facing space, helping you step confidently into your role as a professional coach with clarity, integrity, and purpose.
At this stage, you’ll revisit and refine your understanding of the ethical foundations of coaching—examining real-world dilemmas, exploring boundaries and responsibilities, and clarifying the distinction between coaching and adjacent practices such as therapy, mentoring, and consulting. The aim is not simply compliance with codes of ethics but the cultivation of ethical sensitivity and discernment as an ongoing way of being.
You’ll also engage in a deeper inquiry into your professional identity: What kind of coach are you becoming? What values and principles guide your work? How will you navigate power, difference, and uncertainty in the coaching relationship?
This module provides practical guidance around establishing your practice, engaging in supervision, and committing to lifelong development. But just as importantly, it invites you to reflect on the inner dimensions of your coaching presence—how you hold responsibility, how you show up in service of others, and how you continue evolving as both a person and a practitioner.
