Ruth is one of the members of our brilliant Coach Mentoring Team, and is an ICF credentialed Transformational Life Coach. Since qualifying with Animas in 2015, Ruth has completing an accredited certificate in group coaching, as well as completing the ICF’s credentialing process earlier this year.
Prior to her work as a coach, Ruth’s background is in health and social care having spent time working for her county council working with people with learning disabilities. A role that developed her people and communication skills, as well as her ability to help and deal with issues around vulnerability.
Ruth has also trained as an NLP Practitioner and completed a foundation in counselling, but it just wasn’t what she was looking for. Her NLP training drew in coaching elements which she really enjoyed, and with her appetite whet, she took to the internet to search for some accredited life coaching courses. Having been drawn to the Animas ITC, she signed up the very same evening, and that’s where her coaching journey began.
Much of the coaching work Ruth is involved with in her own practice centres on issues around dissatisfaction of some sort. Whether dissatisfaction at work, in a relationship, or even with how they feel about themselves, Ruth works to transform people’s experience of life and work, by bringing personal development programs to individual clients and employers to reduce stress, improve wellbeing, and increase life and work satisfaction.
Ruth’s approach in the mentor space is very similar to her approach to coaching. A combination of excellent active listening skills, calming presence, and a penchant for communication, allow her to bring about the positive change in her clients, and the positive self-reflections in her mentees that she finds so very rewarding.
